Ledge puts your calendar and the weather in the same panel above the menu bar. Push the cursor into the notch, or press Option+Space, and you see the next meeting, the rest of today's events, the hourly forecast, and the 7-day outlook without opening Calendar or Weather. Move the cursor away and the panel collapses.
This pair was the reason I started the project. I'd been alt-tabbing to Calendar every fifteen minutes to answer "what's next" and I got tired of it.
What the calendar widget shows
The calendar widget leads with the next meeting: title, time, and how long until it starts. Below that, today's remaining events in the order they happen. It reads from the calendars you already have connected in the macOS Calendar app, so iCloud, Google, Exchange, and any other CalDAV account you've added on the Mac all show through. Nothing goes to a Ledge server, because there isn't one.
Click an event to jump to it in Calendar. The rest of the day is a scroll.
What the weather widget shows
The weather widget shows the current condition, the hourly forecast for the next several hours, and the 7-day outlook as a strip of high/low with condition icons. Location follows the Mac's own location setting. If you travel, the forecast follows.
You can keep the compact view (one line, current temp and condition) or expand it to the full hourly-plus-7-day panel by resizing the widget on the page.
Both on one page, one glance
The point of putting calendar and weather on the same page is that "what am I doing next and do I need a jacket" is one glance, not two apps. Push into the notch, read both, move on.
You can put them on any page you build. On my Everyday page they sit next to Now Playing and Mail. On a Weekend page I drop the calendar and give weather the whole row so I can see the week.

Where the data comes from
Calendar data comes from the macOS Calendar app on your Mac. If it's in Calendar, it's in Ledge. Weather data uses your Mac's location and a public weather source. Nothing about the query goes through a Ledge account, because Ledge has no account and no server. Everything stays on the Mac.
The first time you enable the calendar widget, macOS asks for calendar access. Standard. Deny it and the widget goes blank until you grant access in System Settings.
Why the notch is the right place for this
Menu-bar apps stack icons across the top of the screen and open small dropdown windows. That works for one number at a time. Calendar plus weather needs more room: a title, a countdown, three or four events, a temperature, an hourly row, a week strip. The notch panel gives you that room without stealing screen space when you're not looking, because it collapses the moment your cursor leaves.
Setup
- Install Ledge and open it. On first run the Everyday page includes calendar and weather.
- Grant calendar access when macOS prompts.
- Confirm weather is showing your city. If not, check Location Services for Ledge in System Settings.
- If you want a bigger 7-day view, resize the weather widget on the page.
FAQ
Which calendars does it read? Whatever you have in the macOS Calendar app: iCloud, Google, Exchange, CalDAV. Ledge doesn't add its own accounts.
Does it work offline? The calendar reads local data, so today's events show without a network. Weather needs a connection to refresh; the last-known forecast stays visible until it can.
Where does weather data come from? Your Mac's location plus a public weather source. No Ledge account, no Ledge server, no tracking.
Can I put weather on more than one page? Yes. Put it on Everyday for the hourly view and on a Weekend page for the 7-day, if you want.
Does the notch panel show the next meeting when it's closed? The panel is closed by default; you open it by pushing into the notch or pressing Option+Space. If you want a permanent reminder, the macOS Calendar menu-bar icon does that on its own.
Do I need a notched MacBook? Ledge works best on one. Without a notch, the panel drops from the top edge of the display instead.
